About the Role
We are seeking an energetic leader with a passion for the automotive industry to join our team as a Dealer Principal. The ideal candidate will be confident in achieving business growth, leading people, and driving results. As a key member of our dealership team, you will play a critical role in formulating tactical strategies and delivering plans that drive business growth, efficiency, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategies to drive dealership revenue, profitability, and market share
- Achieve and exceed financial targets as per the agreed budget
- Optimize management and control of cross-functional areas in the dealer
- Formulate and implement Dealership practices in compliance with legal requirements, Distributor, and OEM SA guidelines
- Manage assets of a dealership optimally (cash control/flow, liquidity, stock, debtors, creditors, etc)
- Provide effective leadership and people management to attract, develop, and retain high-quality and success-orientated dealer staff
- Ensure customer acquisition and retention via customer-focused interventions in the dealership
- Generate enthusiasm and set an appropriate brand example in line with the franchise standards
- Stay informed and up-to-date regarding competitor intelligence and awareness via proper market analysis
- Track performance to measure and improve operational efficiency for the dealership
Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
- Qualifications in sales and/or marketing (advantageous)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Dealer Principal
- Proven track record of leading a team to exceed car sales targets
- Proven track record of achievement of CSI standards
- Valid drivers’ license
- Exceptional communication skills
- Exceptional customer service
- Target driven
- Clear criminal record
- Computer Literate
