About the Role
An opportunity exists for an experienced Quality Controller within a busy commercial truck dealership and fleet service environment based in JHB / KZN / MPU locations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all workshop repairs, servicing, and mechanical work performed on commercial vehicles meets the highest technical and safety standards before vehicles are returned to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct final quality inspections on all workshop repairs and servicing completed on commercial trucks
- Verify that technicians have correctly completed mechanical and electrical repairs
- Perform diagnostic checks to confirm that reported faults have been properly resolved
- Test drive trucks after servicing or repairs to ensure operational reliability and safety
- Identify incomplete or incorrect work before vehicles are released to customers
- Work closely with workshop foremen and service advisors to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Provide technical feedback and guidance to workshop technicians where necessary
- Assist with fault diagnosis on complex mechanical issues where required
- Maintain accurate quality control records and inspection reports
- Support overall workshop productivity by reducing repeat repairs and customer comebacks
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Qualified Trade Tested Diesel Technician / Diesel Mechanic
- Minimum 8 years experience working on commercial trucks or heavy vehicles
- Proven experience within truck dealerships, fleet workshops, or commercial vehicle service centres
- Strong knowledge of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV / HCV)
Qualifications
- Valid Code 14 Drivers License with PDP (essential)
