About the Role
A leading South African logistics and energy services company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily transport and road freight operations, ensuring efficient fleet utilisation and route planning, and driving performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily transport and road freight operations
- Ensure efficient fleet utilisation and route planning
- Monitor and optimise logistics performance and operational KPIs
- Manage and mentor operational staff, including drivers and support teams
- Ensure compliance with transport and petroleum industry regulations
- Collaborate with internal departments to meet operational targets
- Control operational costs and contribute to budgeting processes
Requirements
- Proven experience in operations management within the road freight and logistics industry
- Relevant transport, logistics, or supply chain qualification
- Strong knowledge of fuel distribution or petroleum logistics operations
