More about Qpro Feeds QPro Feeds is a dynamic Animal Feed Manufacturing business with a facility in both Bethlehem and Vrede. We are responsible for producing animal feed to in-house clients as well as external clients in the monogastric and ruminant fields. Job Description The ideal team player will be responsible to coordinate production bagging processes in the Production packing department: Filling, stitching, stacking, forklift driving and controlling. Performing daily duties related to packing and palletizing of final product. Coordinate activities with all production resources including final product, packaging material, supporting material, machines & equipment, personnel and energy in the Production packing department section to be efficient and effective within a safe and clean environment. Coordinate Production packing Administrating: Daily control and check sheets. Requirements Grade 12 Forklift license 3 years’ experience min in the FMCG industry Duties and Responsibilities Pre-operation start-up and shutdown: Ensure the Production packing area is ready for start-up before the shift commences according to the start-up procedure. Ensure the Production packing area is shut down after the last shift of the day according to the shutdown procedure. Ensure the House keeping is in order before the start of the shift and at shutdown of the shift. Ensure all scales are leveled and verified at the start of each shift in all areas. Ensure all finger scanners and pallet label printers are operational in pallet area. Ensure daily documentation required is printed and available. Ensure handover are done and communicate between shifts. Efficiencies and Utilization Control daily waste to a minimum. Manage recovery and sweepings of final product during packing process. Minimize downtime to a minimum. Inventory Control (Stock control) Perform a daily stock after each batch completed: Final packed full and half pallets. Balance Stock on hand Handover to the Warehouse department. Reconcile deviations. Packaging material Receive Packaging material and Product Bag tickets according to Production plan. Verify the following: Right product and quantity. Update Stock control sheet accordingly. Verify: Right materials are used for each batch packed. Packing: Operates Filling and Stitching machine Packed product Rotationally operate filling and stitching equipment according to operating instructions. Pack product in correct packaging material. Monitor and weigh filled bags manually according to standards. Stack final product bags on pallet according to product configuration, safety and standard guidelines. Move full pallets to product to the final product store. Coordinate stock transfer between Production packing department and Final product store. Forklift driving Ensure that inspections on Forklift are performed daily before the start of each shift. Operates Forklift within Standard operating and forklift procedures. Move product ingredients from various areas to designated areas as required. Drive forklift safely and be alert. Equipment optimization and Maintenance Report any deviations or out of specifications to Line manager. Monitor received and packed quantities/weight against standard. Monitor final product according to quality and food safety compliance: Final bag weight and stitching standards. Adhere to food safety policies and procedures. Perform all quality checks on final product. Protection of Final product against all elements. Administration: Short Term Controls, Reports and registers Completing of daily control sheets and registers as applicable for the job function. Complete Production documents daily. Daily Production administration. Communication Communication with internal customer regarding final product: Packed and moved. Continuous liaising with internal departments to ensure quality product and services. Liaison with Line manager always. Housekeeping Ensure cleaning equipment is in place in allocated areas. Ensure that in-process cleaning is always adhered to in and around the Production department work area. Ensure housekeeping standards are adhered to. Clean working area continuously and Forklift. No unnecessary items lying around. Health and safety Identify and report any health and safety related issues. Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing. Operate according to company standards and safety guidelines. Skills Required Maintaining a professional attitude and appearance. Duties, responsibilities and instructions may reasonably be assigned, reassigned or modified to this job at any time as per instruction from the Head of Department. Ability to follow directions, instructions and work as a team member. Must be able to work shifts. Must be able to work overtime in order to meet business requirements. Team player Liaising with internal customers. Good communication skills. Competencies: Quality assurance and Food Safety legislation. Ability to prioritize and work on your own initiative self-confident.
