Johannesburg: QA/ QC Inspector (Contract)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced QA/QC Inspector to join our team on a contract basis in Johannesburg. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of manufactured and fabricated equipment, as well as overseeing processes across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed inspections of manufactured and fabricated equipment
  • Perform supplier inspections both locally and internationally
  • Oversee processes including welding, fabrication, machining, coating, heat treatment, and NDE (Non-Destructive Testing)
  • Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards
  • Monitor and report on project progress and expediting activities
  • Compile and issue accurate inspection and progress reports
  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and project teams on quality matters

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in QA/QC within fabrication or manufacturing environments
  • Experience working on construction or industrial sites
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Fabrication and welding processes
  • Machining and heat treatment
  • Industry codes: AWS, ASME, EN ISO
  • Experience reviewing and verifying: WPS (Work Procedure Specification), PQR (Process Qualification Record), WQR (Work Quality Report) documentation
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 3834 quality standards
