About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Substation (EPC/PC) & Transformers Class 2, 3 and 4 to lead and manage the full lifecycle delivery of Eskom substation and transformer projects under EPC/PC frameworks, ensuring compliance with Eskom NTCSA standards, schedule, cost, quality, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in substation and transformer projects, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver safe, high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery from design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover; coordinate multidisciplinary teams across substation, PTM&C, civil and telecoms disciplines.
  • Lead Eskom stakeholder engagement, DRT reviews and approvals; manage programme, cost, risk and reporting,
  • Oversee contractor performance and contractual deliverables; ensure timely submission of design documentation, construction drawings and as-built records.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years’ experience in transmission and substation projects in the 132kV to 400kV+ range; proven EPC/PC project delivery experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Eskom NTCSA processes and governance requirements.
  • ECSA registration as PrEng or PrTech preferred.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) – advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years project management experience.
  • Experience working within Eskom or similar regulated environments is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Understanding of Eskom governance, procurement, and compliance frameworks.
