About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer to join our team in Gauteng. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications that meet evolving business needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet user requirements and drive business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance existing functionality, while designing and developing new components to support evolving business needs.
- Develop a deep understanding of the current product architecture and business domain, collaborating with business analysts to refine requirements and implement high quality solutions.
- Refactor, optimise, and modernise codebases to ensure long term maintainability, scalability, and adaptability to future requirements.
- Assess and improve application performance, reliability, and high availability capabilities across all environments.
- Create comprehensive unit tests and integrated system tests to validate that new and existing functionality operates as intended. Support testing processes by developing and executing functional test scenarios during development.
- Produce clear and detailed technical documentation outlining system architecture, components, and operational guidelines.
- Conduct in depth root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and resolve defects within complex, integrated systems.
- Build, package, and deploy applications onto application servers or cloud platforms, ensuring smooth and reliable release cycles.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to continuous improvement of development standards, practices, and processes.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or Matric with more than 8-10 years of hands-on development experience within a custom software development environment, with multiple production releases per year.
- Strong proficiency in .NET C#, with proven expertise in developing enterprise grade web applications. (VB an advantage)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior Web Developer in a multi-tiered .NET application environment, and at least 10 years of experience as a Front-End Developer.
- Practical experience with modern web technologies, including JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, ASP.NET, HTML5, and React.
- Solid understanding of RESTful frameworks, with experience working with JSON and XML-based data exchange.
- Working knowledge of web application security principles, including common vulnerabilities and best-practice prevention techniques.
