About the Role
A fast-growing AI Product and InsurTech business is seeking a Mid-Level Business Analyst to join their team. As a key member of the delivery team, you will play a crucial role in translating high-level business vision into structured specifications for engineering teams. You will operate confidently in ambiguity, solving complex business problems and shaping AI-enabled products from concept through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business discovery sessions with stakeholders to uncover true business needs and operational pain points.
- Map current-state business processes and design improved AI-enabled workflows.
- Own requirements gathering from discovery through to delivery, testing, and acceptance.
- Translate executive vision and business objectives into structured, build-ready specifications.
- Write detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Define system inputs, outputs, acceptable behaviour ranges, human intervention points, and escalation workflows.
- Identify edge cases, failure modes, exception handling, and operational risks as part of requirements definition.
- Challenge assumptions using data, process analysis, and stakeholder interrogation.
- Run structured workshops and facilitate alignment across conflicting stakeholder priorities.
- Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, retrospectives, and Agile delivery ceremonies.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the full product lifecycle.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Leadership teams to ensure successful delivery.
Requirements
- Business Analysis
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Product Analyst.
- Proven experience owning delivery from discovery through implementation.
- Process & Documentation
- Strong process mapping skills using BPMN, UML, or similar methodologies.
- Experience writing PRDs, user stories, functional specifications, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience maintaining requirements traceability throughout delivery.
- Agile Delivery
- Strong experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Exposure to sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and delivery ceremonies.
- Data & Analysis
- Ability to query, interpret, and validate data using SQL, Excel, BI tools, or similar.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to challenge assumptions using data.
- Stakeholder Management
- Strong facilitation, workshop leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Comfortable challenging executives, business owners, and operational teams when clarity is required.
- Ability to navigate competing priorities and conflicting business objectives.
