About the Role
We are seeking a mature and responsible childcare companion for a single mother with three primary school children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Sleep in and care for the children when the mother travels to Johannesburg every second week
- Assist with morning routines and school preparation
- Transport children to and from school
- Supervise and wait for children during extra mural activities
- Ensure children are safe, cared for, and following routines
- Provide general companionship and support in the household
- Assist with homework or schoolwork if able to do so (not essential)
- Basic cooking skills would be beneficial, although cooking will not generally be required
Requirements
- Mature female candidate preferred
- Retired teacher or previous childcare experience advantageous
- Valid drivers license essential
- Trustworthy, dependable, and nurturing personality
- Must be flexible and available on short notice when required
- Non-smoker preferred
