Job Description

Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the manufacturing industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Millwright to join their Engineering Department based in Heidelberg, Gauteng.

Requirements

  • Trade tested Millwright
  • 3-5 years proven experience as a Millwright
  • General milling and turning experience
  • Knowledge of boilers and air compressors
  • Basic welding pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Experience in food processing equipment will be an advantage
  • Ability to read machine blueprint
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • In-depth mechanical skills
  • Trouble shooting and problem- solving skills
  • Analytical skills

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Ensure the leanest operation
  • Installing and disassembling machinery
  • Repairing and replacing defective machine parts
  • Reading and implementing instructions on assembling machinery
  • Using heavy machinery to move other machinery or parts
  • Communicating with other employees regarding the status of different machinery
  • Ensuring machines work properly
  • Must be willing and be able to work overtime as and when required.
  • Must have experience in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CNMMs)
  • Supervising mechanical workshop staff
  • Providing basic training for employees as needed.
  • Evaluating employee performance and providing direction, correction, or additional training to ensure proper maintenance of the machinery.
  • Inspecting the assets frequently for signs of damage or wear
  • Effective control of all resources at your disposal
  • Assisting with emergency response and evacuations
  • Overseeing contractors and inspecting completed jobs
