Job Description

This is an exciting junior-level position designed to support a Senior Accountant while gaining broad exposure to essential accounting functions. The role is ideal for a capable Bookkeeper seeking firm experience or a Junior Accountant eager to expand their practical knowledge in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate capturing of monthly bank statements and financial transactions.
  • Processing of payroll and ensuring timely PAYE submissions.
  • Preparation of basic Income Tax calculations and submissions.
  • Handling client invoicing alongside debtors and creditors reconciliations.
  • Navigating and managing tasks via the SARS eFiling platform.
  • Providing general administrative and filing support to the Senior Accountant.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree, diploma, or relevant bookkeeping qualification (a full accounting degree is not strictly required).
  • Proven, practical experience in a bookkeeping, debtors/creditors, or junior accounts role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero Accounting and Sage Accounting software is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid understanding of SARS eFiling processes and South African tax submission basics.

Remuneration
