About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and mature Lodge Manager to oversee our luxury boutique safari lodge in Hoedspruit, Limpopo. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the wild side of life and enjoy the challenge and rewards of managing a high-end hospitality establishment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising the daily operations of the lodge
- Managing a small team of staff to ensure seamless villa running
- Cooking simple, great-tasting meals for up to 15 guests through menu planning and execution
- Maintaining general maintenance of the lodge (plumbing, electrical, etc.) on a preventative schedule
- Planning and executing logistical tasks such as shopping and errands for groups
- Managing finances and budgets with proven financial and administrative skills
- Ensuring the health and safety of guests and staff through first aid and health and safety certification
- Troubleshooting and adapting to unexpected circumstances diplomatically
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in tourism management (beneficial)
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in a senior position in the hospitality industry at a 4/5* luxury lodge
- Proven experience in running a lodge/property without supervision, to a schedule and with integrity
- Capable of cooking simple meals for up to 15 guests
- Excellent knowledge of general maintenance of a Lodge (plumbing, electrical, etc.)
- Ability to logistically plan for groups
- Proven financial and administrative skills
- Valid driver’s license with own vehicle essential
- First aid/Health and Safety Certification (beneficial)
- Mature, Responsible, and Detail Oriented
- Hands-on leadership by example, self-motivated, and excellent at trouble shooting
