About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our sales and marketing strategy, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with acquisition channels, driving business growth, and ensuring seamless communication between internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain trust-based relationships with acquisition channels, focusing on mutual benefit and reducing competitor gains.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of key acquisition channel needs and grow existing relationships through solution proposals and project initiatives.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with acquisition channels to resolve issues and meet targets, ensuring effective communication.
  • Manage aggregator relationships and strengthen external stakeholder relationships through targeted outreach and proactive initiative management.
  • Ensure both acquisition channels and our clients deliver on agreed commitments and SLAs.
  • Play an integral role in generating relevant leads, preparing reports, and managing projects within allocated budgets.
  • Train employees to identify opportunities and ensure all parties deliver work within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and adhere to defined processes and business rules.

Requirements

About the Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding new business opportunities in Johannesburg. This is a key role that requires strong sales and customer relationship management skills, as well as the ability to develop and implement effective business plans and strategies.

  • Achieve sales MRC of 1 x CTC Pipeline build of 4 x CTC monthly
  • Conduct cold calling, prospecting, and networking to attend 10 new business customer meetings per week
  • Stay fully trained and knowledgeable in the Vox product stack through regular training sessions or external courses as required by the business
  • Solution sell key products to new customers
  • Prospective presentations to potential customers

Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the road freight and logistics market, while developing and implementing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and expand our market presence in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the road freight and logistics market
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow revenue and expand market presence in Johannesburg and surrounding regions
  • Conduct client needs analyses and propose tailored transport and logistics solutions that align with customer requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Prepare and deliver professional presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective clients
  • Negotiate pricing, service level agreements, and contract terms in line with company standards and profitability targets
  • Collaborate closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and exceptional delivery performance
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, providing accurate reporting and sales forecasts to management

Requirements

Minimum 4-5 years experience in Road Freight

Proven B2B sales experience, preferably within the road freight, logistics, or transport sector

Strong understanding of South African road freight operations, routes, and market dynamics (advantageous)

Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment

Qualifications

Matric is essential
