About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to spearhead the growth of our low-pressure blower and compressor product across South Africa and neighbouring countries. This role combines strategic business development with hands-on sales execution, requiring a strong commercial acumen and customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities within the low-pressure blower and compressor segment.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive market entry and growth strategy for South Africa and neighbouring countries.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine business strategies.
- Drive direct sales activities including prospecting, customer visits, technical presentations, and negotiations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and stakeholders.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to revenue growth during the business development phase.
- Provide technical and commercial support to distributors locally and in neighbouring countries.
- Assist with product training, sales enablement, and market positioning initiatives.
- Ensure consistent brand representation and customer satisfaction across the region.
- Establish a strong and sustainable opportunity pipeline to support long-term growth.
- Transition from hands-on sales execution to strategic business development as the market stabilises.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business (Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering preferred)
Qualifications
- Proven experience in the low-pressure blower and compressor market, including installation, sizing, and process understanding.
- Strong track record in business development and technical sales within industrial equipment, compressors, or related sectors.
