About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data & BI Support Analyst to join our forward-thinking team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our data-driven team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reports, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into impactful insights and reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL) from SQL databases, Excel/CSV, and other sources
- Designing, developing, and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports (data modelling, DAX, Power Query)
- Writing efficient SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and KPI calculation
- Ensuring data accuracy, quality, and consistency through validation and quality checks
- Using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate insights, detect trends, and produce executive-ready narratives
- Automating reporting processes and improving efficiency
- Collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into impactful insights and reporting solutions
Requirements
- Grade 12 plus a relevant tertiary qualification (Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar)
- 24 years experience in a Data Analyst or BI support role
- Experience in reporting environments, ideally within operations or service-based industries
- Technical Expertise:
- SQL (Intermediate to Advanced): joins, aggregations, data validation
- Power BI: data modelling, DAX, Power Query, UX and performance optimisation
- Advanced Excel: Pivot Tables, Power Query, data cleansing
- Exposure to Python or similar tools for automation
