About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor with a strong understanding of finance accounting, specifically from a Retail / Commercial / FMCG background, to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion of risk-based audits across the African franchisee market, in line with the company’s internal audit approach and plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely completion of risk-based annual operational and financial audits across the African franchisee market
- Reviewing and evaluating RSC business units and Equity restaurants to identify cost-effective loss prevention measures
- Reporting deviations to Compliance finance manager for review and distribution to the organisation and applicable stakeholders
- Conducting on-site reviews at Equity stores and interacting with OPS staff
- Executing RSC Internal Audit Reviews as per Risk & Control Matrix
- Maintaining SOX process documents up-to-date and ensuring compliance with Global expectations
- Preparing monthly VAT returns
- Supporting Compliance financial manager during statutory audit and financial statement preparation processes
Requirements
- Strong understanding of finance accounting
- 3 – 5 Years’ experience in finance accounting with strong internal auditing experience, specifically around the verification and effectiveness of internal controls, financial statement analysis and procedures within the Retail/Commercial/FMCG environment
- Sound knowledge of a risk and governance environment
- Membership in good standing with the Institute of Internal Auditors/SAICA/SAIPA (advantageous)
- Strong IT skills and competency in Computer assisted Audit Techniques (CAAT’S) Microsoft Office Suite

- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting
