About the Role
Join a specialist boutique law firm focusing on labour and employment law based in Westcliff, Johannesburg, as a Labour Law Associate. The purpose of this role is to manage a broad range of contentious and advisory employment law matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of contentious and advisory employment law files independently.
- Represent clients and handle exposure in the CCMA, bargaining councils, Labour Court, and disciplinary matters.
- Conduct disciplinary enquiries and chair or present evidence in arbitrations.
- Direct and oversee Labour Court litigation processes from start to finish.
- Draft employment-related agreements, policies, and legal pleadings.
- Guide clients through retrenchment processes and restructuring procedures.
- Provide general employment law advisory services and legal opinions to clients.
Requirements
- Approximately 2-5 years of post-admission or post-articles experience in labour and employment law.
- Solid, proven experience specifically within the field of labour and employment law.
- Strong drafting and litigation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage legal files responsibly.
- Good client engagement and communication skills.
