About the Role
A fast-paced manufacturing operation within the packaging and printing sector is seeking an experienced Millwright Technician to join their maintenance team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous production efficiency in a high-speed printing and converting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical and electrical maintenance activities
- Implement preventative maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns
- Supervise and support maintenance staff
- Work closely with production to minimize downtime
- Conduct inspections and ensure quality compliance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Enforce strict safety standards and procedures
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Requirements
- Trade Test Certificate: Millwright (Red Seal essential)
- Diploma in Engineering (advantageous)
- 5–8 years’ experience in a packaging, printing, or converting environment (non-negotiable)
- Strong exposure to high-speed rotogravure or similar printing presses
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
- PLC fault finding experience (programming advantageous)
