About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Housekeeping Manager to join the household of a prominent private principal in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will become a trusted cornerstone of the estate, overseeing all aspects of housekeeping, laundry, wardrobe care, and linen operations for the principal’s luxury residence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a dedicated team to ensure seamless service across both private and VIP guest spaces
- Design, implement, and manage detailed SOPs across housekeeping, laundry, wardrobe management, and linen operations
- Lead the procurement, inventory control, rotation, and quality maintenance of linens across multiple properties
- Provide exceptional personal discretion, confidentiality, professionalism, and emotional intelligence at all times
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery
- Collaborate with the principal and their guests to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring tailored and bespoke service
Requirements
- A minimum of 810 years of progressive senior housekeeping experience within a private UHNW household or comparable high-standard residential environment
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage detailed SOPs across housekeeping, laundry, wardrobe management, and linen operations
- Strong working knowledge of laundry best practices, with particular expertise in the care of luxury and delicate fabrics including cashmere, silk, fine wool, and tailored garments
- Proven experience with eco-friendly and sustainable cleaning products, with a thorough understanding of appropriate chemical usage across varied surfaces, materials, and finishes
