About the Role
The Production Team Leader is a critical role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing processes in our Johannesburg facility. This position requires a strong leader with excellent communication skills to manage a production team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of production workers, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure production targets are met.
- Conduct team meetings to communicate goals, resolve issues, and improve team morale.
- Coordinate daily production activities and ensure workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with production planners to create and adjust production schedules.
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans to meet deadlines and targets.
- Ensure that production processes meet quality standards and specifications.
- Work with quality assurance teams to identify and address quality issues.
- Implement quality control measures and conduct regular inspections.
- Promote a safety-conscious culture and ensure team compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for the team.
- Report safety incidents and take corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Coordinate resource allocation, ensuring the team has the tools and materials needed for production.
- Manage equipment maintenance and report any issues to maintenance teams.
- Implement practices to reduce material waste and optimize resource usage.
Requirements
A National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent. Post-secondary education or training in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field from a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college or similar institution. 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
