About the Role
As a Business Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial health and integrity of our organization. Your duties will include managing the end-to-end monthly and annual financial reporting cycle, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end–to–end monthly and annual financial reporting cycle
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines
- Ensure the general ledger is fully reconciled to the balance sheet each month
- Process and oversee all supplier invoices with accuracy and timeliness
- Process customer invoicing and ensure integrity of revenue records
- Maintain full responsibility for the annual audit file and audit readiness
- Liaise with auditors to ensure a smooth, efficient audit process
- Prepare and review monthly creditor reconciliations with no outstanding reconciling items
- Review monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations for completeness and accuracy
- Review all payments prior to approval to ensure validity and correctness
- Ensure all payments are released timeously and in line with controls
- Take full ownership of all tax submissions and payments across the business
- Maintain continuous tax and regulatory compliance
- Drive compliance across all financial policies and procedures
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Valid SA drivers license and own reliable vehicle
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
- SAIPA or SAIBA registered
- Experience in SAGE or ZERO
