About the Role

As a Business Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial health and integrity of our organization. Your duties will include managing the end-to-end monthly and annual financial reporting cycle, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end–to–end monthly and annual financial reporting cycle
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines
  • Ensure the general ledger is fully reconciled to the balance sheet each month
  • Process and oversee all supplier invoices with accuracy and timeliness
  • Process customer invoicing and ensure integrity of revenue records
  • Maintain full responsibility for the annual audit file and audit readiness
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure a smooth, efficient audit process
  • Prepare and review monthly creditor reconciliations with no outstanding reconciling items
  • Review monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations for completeness and accuracy
  • Review all payments prior to approval to ensure validity and correctness
  • Ensure all payments are released timeously and in line with controls
  • Take full ownership of all tax submissions and payments across the business
  • Maintain continuous tax and regulatory compliance
  • Drive compliance across all financial policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Valid SA drivers license and own reliable vehicle

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • SAIPA or SAIBA registered
  • Experience in SAGE or ZERO
