Job Description

Location: Johannesburg A highly organized, assertive, and detail-oriented Sales Coordinator / Assistant is required to support the Sales Manager and sales team. This role focuses on administration, reporting, follow-ups, task management, and ensuring that all sales-related functions are completed accurately and on time. This is not a sales role. The successful candidate will act as the Sales Managers key support person, coordinating activities, tracking performance, and ensuring accountability within the sales department. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative and executive support to the Sales Manager. Monitor and track sales team activities, deadlines, and outstanding tasks. Follow up with sales staff to ensure quotations, customer requests, and action items are completed timeously. Allocate and monitor tasks as directed by the Sales Manager. Compile and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Analyse sales data and highlight outstanding actions, trends, and areas of concern. Maintain sales trackers, customer databases, and reporting systems. Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and action lists. Ensure accurate record-keeping and filing of sales documentation. Liaise with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled. Assist in managing the Sales Managers diary, meetings, and priorities. Monitor staff productivity and provide feedback to management regarding outstanding tasks and commitments. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric). Relevant qualification in Administration, Business Management, or a related field will be advantageous. Minimum of 3 years experience in a senior administrative, coordinator, or Personal Assistant role. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong report-writing and data analysis abilities. Skills & Competencies Exceptional attention to detail. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Excellent reporting and analytical abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Confidence in following up and ensuring accountability for outstanding tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Professional, proactive, and solution-driven approach. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong time-management and coordination skills. Advantageous Experience supporting senior management. Experience within a steel, manufacturing, distribution, or wholesale environment. Experience with ERP systems, CRM systems, and sales reporting. Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting dashboards.
