About the Role
Join a competitive player within the market managing their seafreight forwarding team. This team consists of senior, high performing Controllers who handle large volumes of forwarding shipments. As a Seafreight Forwarding Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of rate and proposal processes, ensuring effective cargo clearance with customs and statutory parastatals.
Key Responsibilities
- Rate and proposal implementation and maintenance
- Understanding of international currencies
- Customs and other statutory parastatals cargo clearance procedure
- Organising a team effectively and efficiently
- Execution of functional business objectives and strategies
- International Trade principles and procedures
- Financial acumen
- Change management ambassadors
- Managing and resolving conflict
- Assertiveness, initiative, proactive, independence, integrity and diplomacy
Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate
- 3-year freight forwarding-related qualification at NQF level 6
- 10 years Seafreight experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry of which 5 years were in a supervisory capacity
- INCO Terms
- Process knowledge on the movement of goods throughout the supply chain
- Basic international trade principles
