About the Role

Join a competitive player within the market managing their seafreight forwarding team. This team consists of senior, high performing Controllers who handle large volumes of forwarding shipments. As a Seafreight Forwarding Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of rate and proposal processes, ensuring effective cargo clearance with customs and statutory parastatals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rate and proposal implementation and maintenance
  • Understanding of international currencies
  • Customs and other statutory parastatals cargo clearance procedure
  • Organising a team effectively and efficiently
  • Execution of functional business objectives and strategies
  • International Trade principles and procedures
  • Financial acumen
  • Change management ambassadors
  • Managing and resolving conflict
  • Assertiveness, initiative, proactive, independence, integrity and diplomacy

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • 3-year freight forwarding-related qualification at NQF level 6
  • 10 years Seafreight experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry of which 5 years were in a supervisory capacity
  • INCO Terms
  • Process knowledge on the movement of goods throughout the supply chain
  • Basic international trade principles
