About the Role
The Debtors Controller will be responsible for managing and controlling debtors, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Document control
- Filing of all sales documents
- Maintenance of document control log
- Authorisation of sales for credit sales to ensure customer account is within credit limits, for cash sale ensure payment has been made
- Sequence check from doc control log to ensure invoice has not been previously processed
- Collections
- Allocation of debtors payments where necessary
- Follow up on overdues
- Handover of overdue accounts for legal action where necessary
- Reconciliation of debtors accounts where necessary and maintenance by debtor of recons
- Maintenance and circulation of debtors management information
- Debtors age analysis with notes where necessary
- Keep and circulate minutes of debtors management meetings
- VAT recon monthly to Accounts department to file VAT return
- Processing of depreciation entries
- Review creditors payment reconciliations
