About the Role

The Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of electrical engineering tasks and targets, working closely with other engineers and the Head of Department to achieve business development and support goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend tender briefings and prepare tender documentation
  • Write method statements and assist with pricing calculations
  • Contribute to tender processes as and when required
  • Comply with Company procedures and processes in terms of project registration and risk analysis
  • Ensure auditable trail of actions during full life cycle of project delivery process
  • Comply with Quality procedures by ensuring compliance with company Quality Management Procedures
  • Comply with and embrace Health and Safety requirements in the workplace as well as on construction sites
  • Ensure that required services meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Actively lead, participate, and contribute to the design and technical aspects of projects
  • Paramount to this role is conceptualisation, design development, and producing detail design work
  • Sign-off on engineering designs by taking professional responsibility as per ECSA guidelines for designs executed
  • Successfully manage small to medium size projects
  • Design of electrical and electronic building services for various types of projects
  • Provide technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline team and other project teams
  • Prepare project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets, and schedules
  • Facilitate and assist with the tender and adjudication process leading up to contractor appointment and site handover
  • Plan, coordinate and manage the design, procurement, and construction of assigned projects
  • Conduct contract administration and do testing, commissioning, and inspections of installations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Professional registration with ECSA is preferred or be eligible for Professional registration (Pr. Eng) within one year of appointment
  • Essential knowledge of renewable energy designs, including solar PV design and BESS systems, is an added advantage
