About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Specialist to join our team in Nelspruit. As a key member of our sales engineering team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key customers across various industries. Your primary focus will be on identifying new business opportunities, conducting market research, and providing technical and commercial expertise to drive growth and expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key customers in mining, manufacturing, EPCs, and system integrators.
- Identify, research, and selectively pursue new customers of interest based on financial health, capital investment plans, and long-term potential.
- Conduct structured market research and market intelligence gathering to identify opportunities aligned with the company’s offerings.
- Build relationships across customer functions, including maintenance, engineering, planning, projects, procurement, and stores.
- Map decision-makers and influencers and understand both technical and commercial decision processes.
- Act as the primary technical and commercial interface between customers and internal teams.
- Promote and grow the full portfolio of products, services, engineered solutions, and projects.
- Support product sales by working closely with internal sales assistants, and providing technical input, specifications, and solutions guidance.
- Identify service and solution opportunities and share relevant intelligence with regional and business managers.
- Disciplined filtering of enquiries to focus on high-value, strategically aligned opportunities.
Requirements
- Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of industrial, manufacturing, and service-based engineering environments.
- Proven experience in technical or solution-based sales.
- Ability to engage confidently at an engineering and senior management level.
- Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- Structured, disciplined sales approach (not cold-calling driven).
- Willingness to travel within the allocated region.
