Our client operates within the manufacturing and mining sector and is seeking a Finance Lead to join their finance team. Depending on the organisation, this position may also be referred to as a Finance Manager. The successful candidate will serve as a key finance business partner, supporting strategic initiatives while ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and operational excellence.

Reporting directly to the Financial Manager, you will lead a team comprising 4 direct reports and 14 indirect reports, playing a pivotal role in financial planning, cash flow management, reporting, tax compliance, and cost optimisation initiatives.

This is a fully onsite position offering the successful candidate meaningful exposure to leadership, commercial finance, and operational decision-making, creating an excellent platform for future career growth.

Key Responsibilities:
– Partner with the Financial Manager to support strategic business objectives and drive financial performance.
– Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the business.
– Oversee management accounts and provide meaningful financial insights to key stakeholders.
– Lead cash flow management and working capital optimisation initiatives.
– Ensure accurate preparation and review of Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
– Oversee tax and VAT compliance, submissions, and reporting requirements.
– Identify and implement cost optimisation opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
– Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:
– CA(SA) qualification is non-negotiable.
Experience:
– Minimum 2–3 years post-qualification experience.
– Experience within manufacturing or mining environments is highly advantageous.
– Proven experience in financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
– Exposure to tax and VAT compliance is essential.
– Previous team leadership or supervisory experience will be advantageous.
– Experience partnering with operational stakeholders and senior management.

Skills:
– Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
– Strong financial analysis and reporting capabilities.
– Experience with ERP and financial management systems.
– Strong understanding of AFS preparation.
– Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
– Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
– Commercially minded with the ability to influence decision-making through financial insights.
