North West: Diesel Mechanic/ Field Service Technician

We have a position for a Diesel Engine Specialist – Field Service Technician in the North West Province who can provide a safe and efficient mechanical service to the clients team through effective maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery assigned thereby ensuring optimum availability and minimum breakdowns. Carry out and overseer pre use inspections to ensure safe operation of equipment and compliance to COP and procedures. The incumbent is responsible to comply with the necessary general standard and procedural administration regarding completed tasks. Ensure good housekeeping and environmental practices. The jobholder is responsible for his/her own safety as well as for others according to the Occupational Mine Health and Safety Act. Effective communication with Supervisor and Subordinates to be established and maintained. Proper planning to control spares and fuel by utilize ordering system and ensure availability. NQF 4 / N1N3 with 35 years mechanic experience Trade Test qualification (Red Seal Diesel Mechanic) Experience with Forklifts, Telehandlers, Yellow Machines, Cranes, Trucks, Trailers, LDV, Sedans, Military Vehicles , Armoured Vehicles Tractors, TMM Machines, and Engine Rebuild Experience Engine Deutz, Cummins, Cat, Perkins Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills(Tools) Knowledge of hydraulics and auto-electrical repairs Fluent in English & Afrikaans (read, write, speak) Ability to work independently and in a team Ability to work afterhours. Drivers License Field Service experience Boiler making Medical Fitness certificate Advantageous: Previous experience of TMM equipment e.g. Scoops, Dum Trucks, UV and Drill rigs Previous mining related experience Basic General Standard & Procedural Knowledge Basic experience of Hydraulics and Auto Electrical fault finding Experience in Operating TMM and Earth Moving Equipment Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language, as well as Afrikaans.
