About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lodge Manager to run a private, non-commercial lodge in a remote bush setting. The successful candidate will oversee full lodge operations, guest satisfaction, team leadership, kitchen management, and property maintenance. Couples applications are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day lodge operations and team
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences, including check-in/out, activities, and excursions
- Plan, cook, and present meals while managing kitchen hygiene and stock
- Oversee housekeeping, reception, dining, and bar services
- Conduct inventory, stock control, and procurement
- Manage maintenance, safety, and security protocols
- Lead by example in a hands-on, physically active role
Requirements
- 45 years management experience in a 5-star lodge environment
- Functional experience across all lodge departments
- Hospitality Degree/Diploma (preferred)
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Computer literate
- Valid Drivers License with PDP
- Strong references and stable work history
- Qualified chef or strong cooking ability (essential)
- Exceptional guest relations, leadership, and organisational skills
