About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor (Civil Construction) to join our team in Plettenberg Bay, Knysna. As a key member of our construction team, you will assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in preparing essential documents and conducting site research to ensure accurate cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor to prepare Estimates, Cost Plans, Bills of Quantities, Specifications and Schedule of Rates
• Measuring civil work (Digs, Trenching etc.)
• Preparing preliminary estimates for conceptual projects
• Assisting with tender documents
• Determining key variables for cost and other estimates
• Gathering first information from sites
• Conducting research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, and production times
• Obtaining and reviewing quotes from subcontractors
• Creating and submitting tenders to Projects Managers, clients, etc.
• Communicating between different departments on current projects and requirements
• Conducting accurate cost analyses and estimations for the organization

Requirements

• Grade 12 Quantity Surveying or Construction / Building qualification
• Minimum 2 years experience
• Computer literate proficient in Excel
• Professional and detail oriented
• Ability to read drawings and plans
• Valid drivers license
