About the Role
Network Finance is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Technician to join their team in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of the IT department, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server environments, among other critical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, migrate, and upgrade Windows Server environments.
- Administer Active Directory, including users, groups, organisational units, DNS, and Group Policy.
- Configure, monitor, and test backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Administer Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and licensing.
- Provide advanced desktop and end-user support across Windows environments.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues, including RAM, storage, and peripheral upgrades.
- Monitor client environments using remote management and monitoring tools.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and client records.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technical staff where required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on IT support and systems administration experience.
- Strong Windows Server administration experience (2016/2019/2022).
- Solid Active Directory administration skills.
- Proven experience with server migrations and domain migrations.
- Experience implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions.
- Microsoft 365 administration experience.
- Strong desktop support and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Hardware diagnostics, upgrades, and repairs.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and general networking principles.
- Knowledge of endpoint security, patch management, and IT security best practices.
Preferred Experience
- Linux backup solutions and administration.
- Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Microsoft Intune.
- Experience with RMM platforms.
- Firewall technologies.
- Virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware.
- VoIP environments.
