About the Role
Werkie, a leading service provider in financial recovery and debt counselling, is seeking a professional and results-driven Debtor Collection Clerk to join their Client Success team. The successful candidate will focus on maintaining positive client relationships through proactive communication, effective debt collection, and structured retention processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Remind clients of their monthly debt payments
- Contact clients with unpaid collections and arrange suitable resolutions
- Manage retention transfer requests with proper documentation
- Conduct follow-ups to ensure client engagement and compliance
- Accurately log all client interactions, actions, and outcomes in internal systems
- Maintain up-to-date client records in line with POPIA requirements
- Escalate unresolved or complex cases when necessary
Requirements
- Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
- Further studies in Customer Service, Collections, or Business Administration advantageous
- Minimum 12 years experience in customer service, collections, or sales
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Afrikaans & English)
- Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities
- Professional handling of challenging client conversations
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
Salary & Benefits
R15 000 R17 250 per month
