The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations across in-house and outsourced manufacturing. This role ensures that all products—ranging from soft furnishings and home décor to accessories—are produced efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The position supports cutters, machinists, and production teams while aligning manufacturing outputs with business objectives and the critical path. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Production Supervision 1. Supervise daily manufacturing activities, including cutting, sewing, finishing, and packaging. 2. Ensure production targets are achieved according to the master production schedule. 3. Allocate tasks and monitor workflow across teams. 4. Coordinate in-house production and external CMT partners. 5. Support production readiness for seasonal launches. 6. Aligned Lifecycle Steps: Sampling, Bulk Production, Packaging, and Pre-Launch Readiness. Quality Assurance & Compliance 1. Ensure products meet Ardmore’s luxury quality standards and specifications. 2. Monitor in-line and final quality inspections. 3. Address defects and implement corrective actions. 4. Maintain adherence to approved samples and technical specifications. 5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. Production Planning & Coordination 1. Work with Product Development and Planning to execute production schedules. 2. Ensure materials, trims, and equipment are available before production begins. 3. Assist in line balancing and capacity planning. 4. Support pilot runs and pre-production approvals. Team Leadership & Development 1. Lead and motivate machinists, cutters, artisans, and finishing teams. 2. Train staff on best practices, quality standards, and efficiency improvements. 3. Conduct performance reviews and identify skills development needs. 4. Promote a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement. Inventory & Resource Management 1. Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. 2. Ensure accurate stock usage and minimize waste. 3. Monthly Stock Take of all Raw Material and finished goods. 4. Coordinate with the warehouse for stock control and replenishment. 5. Support accurate data entry into ERP systems such as Sage. Process Improvement & Reporting 1. Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements. 2. Track production performance and prepare daily and weekly reports. 3. Support lean manufacturing initiatives and cost optimization. 4. Participate in post-season reviews to improve future cycles. Key Deliverables 1. On-time completion of production orders. 2. High-quality finished products aligned with brand standards. 3. Accurate production and stock records. 4. Optimized manufacturing workflows. 5. Skilled and productive production teams. 6. Continuous improvement initiatives and cost savings. REQUIREMENTS 1. Grad 12 2. Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Fashion Manufacturing, Textile Technology. 3. 5–8 years’ experience in textile or soft furnishings manufacturing. 4. Proven experience managing cutters, machinists, and CMT partners. 5. Strong knowledge of luxury production standards and quality control. 6. Experience working with ERP systems such as Sage. 7. Good understanding of health and safety regulations. REMUNERATION R25,000 To R35,000 (Negotiable – depending on experience and qualifications)
