About the Role
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily distribution and routing of goods, as well as managing warehouse operations, stock control, and security. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in logistics, transport, and warehouse management, with strong organizational and planning skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily distribution and routing (local and long-haul)
- Oversee warehouse operations, stock control, and stock returns
- Supervise weighbridge processes and resolve discrepancies
- Manage fleet maintenance, fuel usage, and vehicle compliance
- Control logistics costs, including pallets and overtime
- Handle transport documentation, GRNs, and transporter invoices
- Oversee security operations and investigate stock losses
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
- Lead and manage warehouse and logistics staff
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics, transport, and warehouse management
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with stock control and fleet management
- Ability to manage teams and meet deadlines
- Computer literate (Excel essential)
