Job Description

Faircape Restaurant and Catering, part of Faircape Life retirement villages, oprerates in 6 prime locations across the Western Cape, providing dining services to village residents and patients in the onsite healthcare centres. We are seeking a Waiter/Bartender to join the team at our facility Heritage Manor within the Somerset West area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring guests and residents are served with professionalism, efficiency, and courtesy. Why Join Us? Cleaning and refilling cruet and condiment sets. Setting tables to laid-down standards, ensuring that all items used are clean, undamaged and in a good state of repair. Maintain designated areas to meet required hygiene standards Have thorough knowledge of all menu items to confidently recommend or explain options to residents. Serving food and beverages in accordance with laid-down standards, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. Practicing excellent customer relations at all times, accommodating resident needs without inconveniencing other guests. Handling customer complaints effectively and reporting all complaints to the manager. Assisting with daily, weekly and monthly stock audits, reporting variances or breakages to your manager. Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies. Ensuring accurate billing of orders and reporting any errors to the manager. Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and grooming. Be willing to assist outside of normal working hours with private events as required. Preparation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages Provide full wine service Regularly restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies to ensure optimal service and availability Experience and knowledge: Proven experience as Waiter and Bartender Barista experience advantageous Knowledge of serving etiquette and basic wine knowledge Skills and Attributes: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrates a sense of urgency Ability to provide outstanding service and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests Capability to work effectively within a team to achieve common goals and ensure seamless service Focuses on achieving excellence and maintaining high-quality standards Specific Requirements: Clear health record Clear criminal record Clear credit record Contactable references Faircape offers a competitive salary. The salary will be dependable on experience, qualifications, skills and attributes. Your total package includes a set basic salary, as well as provision for Sunday pay (at time and a half), public holiday pay (at double time), and quarterly performance bonuses paid every three months after successful probation. Please note, quarterly bonuses are discretionary and based on individual performance and company performance. Working hours: You will be required to work 16.25 shifts per month. Normal working days are Mondays to Sundays from 07h00 to 19h00, according to the roster.
