South Africa: Business Development Lead

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Lead to join our team, responsible for developing new business relationships with large-scale fuel users in the mining and agricultural sectors across Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will spend most of their time in the field, visiting mine sites and farms to identify operational pain points and educate clients on how our technology enables compliance and audit-readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new business relationships within the mining and agricultural sectors
  • Spend majority of time in the field, visiting mine sites and farms across Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape
  • Identify operational pain points and educate clients on our technology’s benefits
  • Capture granular data required for SARS diesel rebate claims
  • Identify Mining Right Owners and build financial cases to support executive-level approval
  • Promote mobile refuelling service (“Petrol Station to Asset”) and demonstrate its value in reducing fleet downtime and eliminating bulk-tank shrinkage
  • Manage structured sales pipeline from initial outreach through to final procurement sign-off
  • Work alongside technical team to ensure hardware installations are aligned with client operational requirements
  • Maintain client relationships during onboarding phase to ensure smooth implementation and satisfaction

Requirements

  • 46 years of experience in industrial, fuel, mining, or agriculture-related B2B sales
  • Existing relationships within mining operations, large industrial businesses, or large-scale agricultural businesses (non-negotiable)
  • Proven ability to open doors in traditional, hard-to-access industries and close deals independently
  • Working knowledge of SARS diesel rebates, fuel reconciliation, and mining procurement processes advantageous
