About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and professional Chauffeur/Driver to join our team at a 5* Luxury Hotel in Franschhoek, South Africa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional transportation services to our guests, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Transporting guests to their destinations
- Ensuring the vehicle is in good condition and the fuel tank adequately filled
- Helping guests in loading and unloading their baggage
- Offering assistance to guests in finding nearby restaurants, wine farms & local attractions
- Liaising with guests to understand their needs and providing them with appropriate suggestions
- Coordinating with various Villa management & staff to gather or share valuable information on guests
- Opening/closing the door and greeting guests in a polite and courteous manner
- Adjusting seats and AC temperature to suit the guests’ needs
- Using navigation tools to find the fastest route
- Checking traffic updates before starting the journey
- Running errands and collecting parcels on the guests’ behalf
- Abiding by road safety standards and traffic rules
- Paying toll taxes when commuting via national highways
- Regularly cleaning the car interiors and fixing minor issues
- Booking appointments for timely car servicing and repairs
- Determining transportation fares according to location and the total number of passengers
- Undertaking airport pick-ups and drop-offs when needed
- Suggesting local attractions and sightseeing spots to guests
- Ensuring the car tyres have required air quantity and that the vehicle is in perfect condition at all times
- Checking weather reports for a hassle-free journey
- Ensuring the guests are comfortable throughout the journey
- Arriving at the specified location on time
Requirements
- Post Matric qualification in any discipline but ideally Travel & Tourism Holder
- A valid SA drivers license
- Experience working as a Chauffeur within a 5* Hospitality environment
- Exceptional communication and people skills
- Familiarity with GPS tools and Google maps
- Excellent road and traffic knowledge & sense of surroundings
- Friendly & polite personality, displaying a pleasant and welcoming attitude
- Well-groomed, neat and highly presentable, always wearing clean / freshly-ironed clothes
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) are not required for this position.
