About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our luxury game lodge in the Eastern Cape, where we offer a unique opportunity to work in a world-renowned, understated luxury safari reserve. This is a live-in position in a remote, pristine wilderness environment, ideal for a chef who shares our passion for exceptional food and the African bush.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute dishes to the highest standard across all meal services
  • Manage and maintain your allocated section with precision and consistency
  • Assist the Head Chef with menu preparation, special events, and bush dining experiences
  • Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards
  • Assist with stock control, food costing, and waste reduction within your section
  • Support and contribute positively to a small, close-knit kitchen team

Requirements

  • Formal culinary qualification from a recognised institution
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ Chef de Partie experience in a luxury lodge, hotel, or fine dining environment
  • Strong all-round kitchen skills across multiple sections
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance
  • Team player with a positive, hands-on attitude

  • Formal education/certifications (e.g. Bachelor’s degree, Matric)
