Must have experience with Foundry LP Casting X-Ray QC
Matric with Maths & Sciences
NDT Level II Industrial Radiography qualification
2-5 Years Experience in non-destructive equipment handling and practices.
NDT Level II Minimum
Automative added advantage
X-ray (required)
480 effective working hours and experience under supervision of authorized Industrial radiographer
DIN EN ISO 9712
 
Oral and written communication skills in English Language
Leadership skills with ability to lead remote and cross-functional teams and organizational agility
Negotiation, Analytical, Presentation and Project management Skills
The use of various procedures and application of clearly prescribed Works Instruction
Health & Safety Regulation in line with NDT
Strong Administrative Abilities

Basic principles of radiation protection and control
 
Record and capture all non-conforming wheels on the scrap recording system as and when a non-conforming product is detected.
Compile daily scrap and output sheets as prescribed by the department HOD at the end of each shift worked.
Compile and submit required production records and reports to next line of supervision (HOD, X-ray, sprue drill and Heat Treatment) at the end of the working shift and/or any other time.
Identify and report any unsafe work condition to the next line in supervision (HOD, X-ray, sprue drill and Heat Treatment).
 
Inspect wheels using calibrated x-ray equipment.  Automatic sheet identification selects the program itself.  Inspect wheel on the screen to detect defects which do not confirm to standard, mark rejected wheels using reject button for the crusher to damage wheel.
Inspect wheel on screen to detect defects which do not conform to standards.
Trouble shoot and report to the LP Casting HOD or LP Casting Technician should wheels not continuously flow to the X-ray machines.
Unstuck wheels stuck in the X-ray in feed conveyor and/or exit conveyor.
 
Instruct new personnel in safe working practices and in the nature of biological effects resulting from exposure to radiation
Ensure operational procedures are so established and maintained.
Investigate each case of excessive or abnormal exposure and ensure steps are taken to prevent recurrence.
