About the Role

National Hotel Group requires an Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance Manager to safeguard assets, ensure financial integrity, and optimize operational efficiency across a national portfolio of hotels, resorts, and head office functions. The successful candidate will lead a risk-based audit strategy, provide strategic counsel on internal controls, and report to the Group Financial Director and Audit Committee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive 3-year rolling Internal Audit Plan and an annual risk-based operational plan.
  • Lead the end-to-end audit cycle—including planning, scoping, fieldwork, and reporting—for all hotels, resorts, and head office functions.
  • Ensure all audit activities align with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and South African auditing standards.
  • Provide independent assurance and strategic counsel to the Board regarding the effectiveness of the control environment and governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • Degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting, or Risk Management preferred.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Accountant CA (SA) preferred.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or a postgraduate qualification in Risk Management is highly advantageous.
  • 5 – 6 years of professional experience in Internal Audit and Risk Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management/leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record within the Hospitality, Retail, or FMCG sectors.
