About the Role
A Big 5 Game Lodge in Pilanesberg, North West is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage all maintenance operations across the property. The ideal candidate will ensure that the lodge facilities, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standard, supporting a seamless guest experience in a luxury environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all maintenance operations across the lodge
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance plans
- Ensure all lodge facilities and equipment are in excellent working condition
- Supervise and manage the maintenance team
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, rooms, and public areas
- Manage stock, tools, and maintenance supplies
- Coordinate repairs, services, and external contractors
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies
- Maintain records of maintenance work and schedules
Requirements
- RSA ID and legal residence essential
- Relevant technical qualification (Electrical / Mechanical / Building)
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager in a lodge or hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building upkeep
- Ability to manage preventative maintenance schedules
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Experience managing a maintenance team
- Good organisational and stock control skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Valid drivers license essential
