Maintenance Manager – Luxury Island Fishing Lodge – Bahamas Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a skilled, self-sufficient and highly capable Maintenance Manager for a world-renowned, intimate luxury bonefishing lodge and boutique hotel on the east coast of the Bahamas. Perched on an isolated bluff above a virtually private beach, the property offers fine dining, a pool, manicured tropical gardens, and a fleet of fishing skiffs – all of which need to be maintained to an impeccable standard in a remote, tropical island environment. This is a rare opportunity for a hands-on, technically strong maintenance professional who is ready for a genuine adventure – living and working in one of the most beautiful and secluded locations in the Caribbean. Please note: This is an international live-in position. The successful candidate will be required to obtain the relevant work authorisation for the Bahamas. Assistance with this process will be provided by the employer. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 3 to 5 years’ maintenance management experience, within a luxury lodge, hotel or island resort environment Strong technical skills across two or more of the following: electrical, plumbing, HVAC and air-conditioning systems, carpentry, welding and generator/power systems Experience with pool and water system maintenance – essential Marine and boat maintenance experience – highly advantageous given the property’s active fishing fleet Grounds and tropical garden maintenance experience advantageous Solid knowledge of OHS and property safety compliance Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a remote location with limited immediate access to suppliers and contractors Experience managing a small maintenance team Computer literate with the ability to maintain records and maintenance logs Valid driver’s license Able and willing to live full-time in a remote island environment Stable work history with outstanding, contactable references Valid passport – essential Relevant tertiary qualification – essential for work permits Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all maintenance operations across the lodge, guest rooms, common areas, pool, gardens and marine equipment Implement and manage a preventative maintenance schedule across all property assets Maintain and service the property’s fleet of fishing skiffs and marine equipment Manage pool maintenance, water quality and chemical compliance Ensure all electrical, plumbing, HVAC and generator systems are functioning optimally at all times Respond swiftly to emergency maintenance situations Manage stock of maintenance supplies, tools and spare parts Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for specialist work Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and asset registers Ensure full compliance with health, safety and fire prevention standards Manage and develop a small on-site maintenance team Package: Salary: USD 3,450 per month Live-in: Single Accommodation provided on the property Remote island location – meals included Should you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply with your updated CV, copies of relevant certifications, contactable references and a recent head & shoulders photo ASAP! ?
