About the Role
The South Africa: Mining Production Engineer – Kathu role is seeking an experienced production engineer with a strong background in mining operations to join our team in Kathu. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing mining contractors and operational production teams, as well as a deep understanding of MHSA regulations and mining compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mining production teams and ensure optimal output
- Oversee the operation of mining equipment and production processes
- Develop and implement production plans and strategies
- Collaborate with contractors to achieve production goals
- Conduct regular operational analysis and reporting
- Ensure compliance with MHSA regulations and mining standards
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related mining discipline
- Minimum 5 years of operational mining experience
- Proven experience within open-cast mining environments
- Exposure to manganese mining operations is highly advantageous
- Previous production or operational management experience within mining operations
Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications required for eligibility for a 3.1 legal appointment
