Roles and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Construction Manager to oversee the successful execution of large-scale industrial, mining, and Eskom-related projects based in Lephalale, Limpopo. The successful candidate will manage multidisciplinary construction teams across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, EC&I, and Technical disciplines, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, excellent coordination skills, and extensive experience within industrial plant or mining construction environments. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for industrial and mining plant projects. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, EC&I, and Technical departments. Ensure project execution aligns with approved schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements. Oversee construction planning, implementation, and daily site operations. Manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site resources effectively. Monitor project progress and provide regular status reports to stakeholders and senior management. Ensure compliance with Eskom standards, site regulations, and statutory requirements. Interpret and review technical, engineering, and hydraulic drawings and specifications. Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures. Drive productivity, quality assurance, and continuous improvement on site. Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards. Support project commissioning and handover activities where required. Minimum Requirements: Relevant Engineering Degree or Diploma. SACPCMP registration is essential. Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in Construction Management within industrial, mining, plant, or Eskom-related environments. Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project execution in heavy industrial environments. Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects. Ability to read and interpret engineering and hydraulic drawings. Proficient in MS Projects and Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of Eskom site standards and procedures will be highly advantageous. Fire systems experience will be beneficial. Must meet Eskom site clearance and medical fitness requirements. Immediate availability preferred. Strong industrial construction management capability is essential. Additional Information Accommodation/housing will be arranged for long-term placement. This is an urgent placement for a rapidly growing project environment.
