About the Role
A leading producer of platinum group metals and key contributor to South Africa’s mining sector is seeking an experienced and highly capable Network Engineer to join their team and help strengthen their enterprise technology and operational infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure across operational and corporate sites.
- Work with a team that enables the digital backbone of a world-class mining operation.
Requirements
- 7+ years hands-on experience managing enterprise network environments and teams.
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco switching platforms (Catalyst, Nexus) and Cisco DNA Center.
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), STP variants, VXLAN, multicast, QoS, and SD Access concepts.
- Experience with network automation (Python/Ansible/Git) and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Solid understanding of NAC (Cisco ISE), firewall policies, and segmentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field (essential).
- Professional Certifications:
- CCNP Enterprise (required)
- CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure (preferred but not essential)
Salary & Benefits
- Cost to company salary of up to R1.7m per annum depending on experience and ability.
