Job Description

A well-established textile manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and driven Printing Coordinator to join its Printing Department.

Reporting to the Printing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that fabric processed through the Printing Department meets required quality standards, is produced according to the daily production plan, and is completed efficiently with minimal waste, rework, and downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff within the Printing Department.
  • Plan and manage departmental production requirements to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Prioritise urgent production orders to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Ensure all production processes comply with established quality standards.
  • Maintain customer specifications and ensure fabric is produced according to required standards.
  • Liaise with the Engineering Department to ensure machinery remains operational and well-maintained.
  • Assist in reducing machine breakdowns and production interruptions.
  • Support employee training and development and manage disciplinary matters where required.
  • Maintain a strong shop-floor presence and provide hands-on leadership.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively and work alongside team members to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are implemented and adhered to.
  • Maintain accurate production and administrative records.
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical Printer / Finisher Trade Test will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience within a textile, printing, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive, results-driven, and capable of motivating and managing teams.
  • Good problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of textile printing processes will be highly advantageous.
