About the Role

A well-established automotive manufacturing environment is seeking a detail-driven Fixed Asset Controller to take full ownership of fixed asset management across the business. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong manufacturing exposure who enjoys working with large asset bases, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Fixed Asset Register Management
• Maintain and manage the full fixed asset register for tangible and intangible assets
• Record asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers and impairments accurately
• Asset Verification & Audits
• Coordinate and conduct physical asset verifications across sites
• Support internal and external audits relating to fixed assets
• Capitalisation, Depreciation & Amortisation
• Ensure correct capitalisation of assets in line with accounting policies
• Calculate and process monthly depreciation and amortisation
• Asset Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare fixed asset reports and financial analysis for management
• Provide insights into asset utilisation and financial impact
• Compliance & Policy
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies and statutory requirements
• Assist in strengthening asset management policies and internal controls
• Business Case & Project Support
• Support the preparation of business cases for capital expenditure, including DCF analysis
• Work with project teams to track project-related assets
• AIS Claims
• Manage and submit AIS claims, including supporting documentation
• Provide support during AIS audits
• Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve asset management processes, controls and reporting
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the key contact for asset-related queries across the business
• Provide guidance to operational teams on asset management procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ finance experience within manufacturing
• Automotive industry exposure advantageous
• Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting, capitalisation and depreciation
• Experience supporting audits and financial reporting
