Western Cape: UAT Specialist (API‑Focused | Agile Delivery) posted by Communicate Finance

Job Description

My client operates in a complex, hightransaction technology environment and is seeking a handson UAT Specialist to join an Agile delivery team.
 
This role sits at the intersection of business, QA, and technology. You’ll take ownership of UAT planning and execution, working closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure features are productionready.
 
A strong focus of this role is APIdriven systems. You’ll validate systemtosystem integrations, confirm data integrity across platforms, and ensure business rules are correctly implemented from backend services through to the UI.
 
This is not a boxticking testing role. It’s a role for someone who enjoys understanding how things work under the hood and wants real ownership over quality in live, highvolume systems.
 
Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a UAT or software testing environment
  • Strong experience testing APIbased systems (REST / service integrations)
  • Ability to validate systemtosystem interactions and data accuracy across platforms
  • Experience creating and executing manual test cases linked to user stories and business rules
  • Confident defect logging and tracking using tools such as Jira, Quality Center or similar
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments (Waterfall exposure beneficial)
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Comfortable working with technical and nontechnical stakeholder

Qualification:

  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • ISTQB / Certified Test Analyst (advantageous, not mandatory)
