About the Role

Edgexec (Pty) Ltd is seeking a seasoned leader to helm our agency in Mozambique. As Agency Head/General Manager, you will be responsible for shaping growth, performance, and stakeholder confidence in a complex maritime environment. This senior leadership role carries full accountability for strategy, operations, commercial performance, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a business strategy aligned to financial and operational objectives
  • Oversee end-to-end agency operations, including vessel schedules, cargo handling, and terminal coordination
  • Drive commercial growth through customer engagement, partnerships, and market development
  • Lead budgeting, cost control, and full P&L responsibility
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing local leadership team
  • Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and health & safety regulations
  • Represent the organisation with government bodies, regulators, and industry forums
  • Champion sustainability initiatives and operational innovation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or maritime studies; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years experience in shipping, logistics, or maritime environments
  • At least 5 years in a senior management or general management role
  • Proven track record in operational optimisation and business growth
  • Strong financial management capability with P&L ownership
  • Confident leadership style with experience managing diverse, cross-functional teams

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
