About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager – Pumps to lead our sales team in the Cape Town City Centre, responsible for driving revenue growth and delivering exceptional client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a sales strategy that details how to build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
- Balance profit maximization with client satisfaction
- Set detailed targets for all members of the sales team (monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets)
- Forecast sales results monthly, quarterly, and annually, sharing insights with leadership and sales teams
- Develop plans to consistently meet and exceed sales targets
- Build and manage a high-performance sales team, ensuring each member effectively manages their client base
- Identify necessary skills for successful sales engineers and implement development plans
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Ensure the sales team has the necessary tools and technology
- Assist sales engineers and generate quotes as needed
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and leadership team to set annual business directions and actions
- Optimize production workflows to maximize profits
Requirements
- Matric Sales and Marketing Diploma / Degree advantageous Engineering Degree or related studies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with SAGE accounting systems
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Technical Pump Sales and/or related industry (negotiable)
- Minimum 3-5 years in a managerial role
- Selling experience to industries such as power utilities, refineries/petrochemical, steel, water/wastewater, pulp/paper, automotive, food & beverage, and general industrial clients
