Durban: Software Implementation Engineer (AI and Agentic Workflows) – Durban (Hybrid)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Implementation Engineer with expertise in AI and agentic workflows to join our team in Durban (Hybrid). As a key member of our implementation team, you will design and deploy autonomous workflows using modern orchestration frameworks to manage end-to-end customer journeys. Your role will involve leading deep-level integrations with enterprise systems, building AI agents, and ensuring seamless human-in-the-loop handoffs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Agentic Architecture: Design and deploy multi-step autonomous workflows using modern orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, or PydanticAI) to manage end-to-end customer journeys
  • Enterprise Systems Integration: Lead deep-level integrations with CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot) and communication APIs (WhatsApp, SendGrid)
  • Event-Driven Automation: Build and orchestrate AI agents utilising Webhooks and Triggers to ensure near real-time data synchronisation between LLM outputs and client databases
  • Agentic Evaluation (Evals) & Reliability: Design rigorous testing protocols to ensure AI agents operate within enterprise guardrails, handling edge cases with high confidence and seamless Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) handoffs
  • Consultative Scoping: Partner with client stakeholders from technical leads to C-suite executives to translate vague business objectives into robust, scalable technical requirements
  • Performance & ROI Analytics: Monitor post-launch observability metrics (latency, token cost, task completion rates) to demonstrate clear business value through data-driven reporting

Requirements

  • Deep practical experience with LLM Orchestration
  • Understanding of the difference between a simple chain and a cyclic, reasoning-based agent
  • Expert proficiency in RESTful APIs, Webhook architectures, and managing asynchronous data flows
  • Strong ability to process, map, and transform disparate enterprise schemas using Python and the pragmatic use of Excel for data cleaning
